PowerNet Global Speaks at VON 2006 Cincinnati, OH, August 18, 2006 – PowerNet Global Communications, an integrated communications provider, announces two industry veterans from the company to speak at the upcoming VON show September 11-14 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. For the last 10 years the industry has gathered at VON to gain insight on the most current happenings in telecommunications. This year VON offers 5 unique tracks, each of which will focus on enabling and emerging different communication technologies and their impact on the end-user.

Leo Chan, Director of New Business Development at PowerNet Global, will speak at VON on securing communications for IMS. Leo has over 10 years of experience in telecommunications and information technology. He has played key roles in delivering technology-based solutions for major telecommunications companies in the United States and abroad, with a specialization in wireless, mobile computing and Internet-based applications.

Leo’s session will speak on the technology for securing IP communications from an Internet security world. His session will cover:

• What best practices should be carried over for IMS?

• What unique concerns does IMS represent?

• How to navigate your way through the security issues relating to IMS.

Don Shirley, Director of Strategic Alliances at PowerNet Global, will speak at VON on wireless access: WiMax, WiFi, and 3G. Don has spent virtually his entire career in communication technology leadership roles. For the last 22 years, Don has held a number of executive positions in technology commercialization. With assignments including marketing and business development with Cincinnati Bell and Ericsson, his focus has been specializing in advanced mobile data and wireless broadband technologies, products and services. Don founded his own mobile Internet venture Brightpod, which was sold to InPhonic in 2000.

Don’s session will look at the state of wireless broadband and its impact on carrier models. His session will explore:
